Dear Devotees,
This message has
three announcements from the Bharatiya Temple of
Lansing.
1)
Maha Kumbhabhishekam
successfully completed

Thanks to the
grace of God and the dedicated work of everyone involved – priests, volunteers,
organizers, and performers at cultural events – and with the financial support
of devotees, our Temple’s ambitious five-day Maha Kumbhabhishekam ceremony came
off extremely well. Those who attended thoroughly enjoyed both the religious
and cultural elements of this colorful festival. We now have a purified Temple
and re-energized deities. The picture above shows one of the shikharas atop the temple immediately after Kumbhabhishekam was performed to it at around noon on Day
5. This and some other pictures are posted at: http://lansingtemple.org/Kumbhabhishekam/MKSPictures.pdf.
There were many
memorable moments, of which we cite just one. On the afternoon of Day 2, while
the Gayatri Havan was being
performed for all the deities at the Temple, Dr. Sripada
Raju was inspired to compose a Gayatri mantra for the
Jain murtis. This Gayatri
(posted at http://lansingtemple.org/Kumbhabhishekam/JinesvaraGayatri.pdf)
was recited during the Havan
along with the other Gayatris and is now a part of
our Temple’s heritage.
A
Community Directory produced on the occasion is available for sale at a cost of
$10 per copy. Copies may be purchased from Shastriji
at the Temple.
2)
Third Sunday Havan on June 20 at 11:30 AM:
The monthly Third Sunday havan on June 20 will be at 11:30 AM. Everyone is invited
to attend.
