Dear Devotees,
This message has three
announcements from the Bharatiya Temple of Lansing.
1) First Sunday Puja on Sunday August 1 at 11:30 AM:
Please join the First
Sunday Puja on August 1. It will be hosted by Ketan and Archana Patel and family. The puja
will start at 11:30 AM, followed by lunch at 1 PM.
The lunch will be available in the basement for the regular fee of $5 per
adult and $3 for children under 12. The lunch is prepared by the cooking
staff of the temple. Your support of the lunch program helps the kitchen
operation of the temple. Some food will also be available for sale at nominal
prices in take away containers.
All patrons of the temple are requested to limit
food upstairs to a single item, either Halwa or fruit
or dry fruit as prasad. Please limit food in foyer to
these items only in observance of the temple's established practice.
2)
Update on Fun, Fitness, and
Fundraising Walk on Sunday August 8:
The venue for the walk has changed from that announced
earlier. The new venue is:
Nancy Moore Park Pavilion
2100 Gaylord C. Smith Court, East Lansing, MI 48823
The rest of the information sent earlier remains unchanged.
The updated information is posted http://lansingtemple.org/misc/walk2.pdf
The organizing committee needs your help as
sponsors, participants and volunteers to make this event successful. We are
looking for pledges in small amount such as 25 cents, 50 cents or one dollar
per walker. You can also put a dollar limit on your donation such as (50
cents per each walker with a dollar limit of $250). Please contact Manasi Upadhye at 517-347-6154
if you need additional information.
3) Hundi
Donations:
Over the years, hundi donations by our devotees and
donors have played a major role in temple operation. Your temple uses this
money for operations to provide an excellent religious experience to you. This
year, hundi donations have declined. We urge you to make cash donations by using envelopes ONLY
and writing the amount/your name and address and depositing in the hundi boxes near sanctum and Jain temple. Temple will be
able to provide receipts for your cash donations effectively this way. By using this method, even smaller donations can
be made tax deductible.
Once again, we encourage you to donate cash at
temple using the Hundi boxes and envelopes ONLY
available near box and in the lobby. Please reach out to our temple
managers Chandu Patel and Pardeep Kumar if you have
any questions.
Sincerely,
Bharatiya Temple of Lansing
